Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has said more than 30 per cent votes were cast in the elections at 156 Upazila Parishads under the second phase on Tuesday.
He told journalists while speaking to journalists at Nirbachan Bhaban, Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
The CEC said: "The voting in the Upazila Parishad elections took place. Elections were held at 36 upazilas across the country. Among those, voting was held at 132 upazilas through ballot papers, while at 24 upazilas under the Electronic Voting machines. No incident of violence took place in the election.
