News Desk, Bangladesh Global: One person has been killed and seven others injured as four trucks and a private car caught fire after an oil tanker overturned in Savar's Hemayetpur, Dhaka. The incident occurred at 5:38am on Tuesday (April 2) in the Dhaka-Aricha highway’s Zorpul area, said Savar Fire Service duty officer Asad.
On receiving the information, three units of Savar Fire Service went to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 7am.
The deceased was identified as Iqbal, from Jashore’s Cougacha. He used to load-unload cement from trucks.
The injured are: A Salam, 35, Milon Molla, 20, Al Amin, 30, Nironjon, 45, Mim, 10.
The injured were sent to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital.
The extent of the damage was not immediately known, Asad said.
