News Desk, Bangladesh Global: A man and his son were killed and wife was injured after being run over by a bus in Narayanganj's Sonargaon upazila on Saturday.
The accident took place around 7:30 am at Keodhala bus stand in Kanchpur.
The deceased were Suresh Dakua, 35, and his son Rokesh Dakua, 7, hailed from Jhalakathi's sadar upazila. Injured was Nipu Roy, 30.
Police said they got information that the three were hit by a speeding bus while crossing road at Keodhala bus stand. Later, they went there and found the child dead on the spot. Injured husband and wife were moaning on the street. They were quickly rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Suresh dead.
Kanchpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rezaul Haque said the driver of the bus fled after the accident. Attempts are underway to identify the vehicle. The child's body was taken to the police station from the spot.
