DMP issues traffic guidelines, directs to avoid some roads for 9 days

Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Sri Sri Jagannath Dev Ratha Yatra, one of the religious festivals among Sanatan Dharma followers, begins on Sunday (July 7). The festival will end on July 15 with a reverse Ratha Yatra. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has advised avoiding the roads used for Rath Yatra for the next 9 days.

DMP Media and Public Relations Division informed that various “Mangala Dosha” programs have been organized in multiple temples on the occasion of Rath Yatra. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has organized an 8-day event in Dhaka on the occasion of Rath Yatra.

On Sunday (July 7) at 3 pm, the main Rath Yatra will start from the capital’s Shamibag ISKCON temple and end at the Dhakeshwari Temple. Reverse Rath Yatra will begin from Dhakeshwari Temple at 3 pm on July 15 and will end at Shamibag ISKCON temple after circling various roads.


Roads where the main Rath Yatra will circumambulate
Rath Yatra will start from Shamibag Ashram (ISCON, Dhaka) on Shamibag Road to Jai Kali Temple intersection, Ittefaq Mor, Shapla Square, Dainik Bangla Mor, RAJUK Crossing, Gulistan, Golap Shah Mazar, Police Headquarters, Government Employee Hospital, High Court Mazar, Doel Square, Central Shaheed Minar, Jagannath Hall, Palashi and will end at Dhakeshwari National Temple.

DMP has requested the vehicles plying on the above road to use alternative roads during the Rath Yatra.
