Khulna, Bangladesh Global: A union parishad chairman was gunned down by miscreants in Khulna's Dumuria upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was Sheikh Rabiul Islam Robi, 45, was killed while returning home after attending an Awami League meeting.
He was the chairman of Shorafpur Union Parishad and a member of upazila Awami League.
According to police, doctors on duty said Rabiul died before he was taken to the hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dumuria Police Station Sukant Kumar Saha confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
He said Sharafpur Union Chairman of Dumuria Upazila Sheikh Rabiul Islam Rabi was shot dead by miscreants.
His body is in the morgue of Khulna Medical College Hospital, he added.
