News Desk, Bangladesh Global: The bodies of two children, who went missing after going out to play on Thursday afternoon, were recovered from a pond in Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district.
The children were Omar Faruk, 6, son of Shah Paran and Jihad Hossain Manik, 5, son of Jewel Ahmed. They were members of the Hawladar family.
Inspector Mintu Dutta of Hajiganj Police Station said Faruk and Manik went to play near their house in the afternoon. The family looked for the children everywhere until 8pm.
Later, they searched the pond using fishing net near the Howladar family's house in Suhilpur village in Hajiganj. The bodies of the children were found with the fishing net around 9:30pm on Thursday.
Union Parishad Chairman Yusuf Pradhan has acknowledged the matter.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Golam Mawla said the children died a long time before they were brought to the hospital.
