Pori Moni drank alcohol worth Tk 87,000 at Boat Club: PBI

Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has submitted investigation report of a case filed over alleged attempt to murder, beating, vandalising and giving threats against actress Pori Moni.

Dhaka district inspector Md Monir Hossain, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the report before Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on March 18.

Police found proof of a murder attempt on Dhaka Boat Club president and businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud by Pori Moni and her costume designer Junayed Bogdadai Jimmy and vandalism inside the club.

But the allegation against another accused Fatema Tuj Jannat Bonny were not proved.

Early hours on June 9, 2021, Pori Moni and Jimmy left Boat Club without paying bill of four bottles of alcohol they drank. The price of two bottles Blue Label and two bottles wine is Tk 87, 650.

Besides, glass, ashtrays and bottles were vandalised inside the bar, causing a loss of approximately Tk 20,000.


Nasir Uddin, plaintiff of the case, mentioned in the case that Pori Moni and his associates are used to consuming alcohol. They enter different famous clubs tactfully and drink alcohol and do not pay the bill. Pori Moni threatened by filing false cases with police officials, he knew.

On June 9, 2021, the accused entered Savar's Boat Club and used the washroom on the second floor. Later they sat inside the club and drank alcohol.

At one stage, Pori Moni tried to attaract Nasir with obscene gestures and pressured him to give a free parcel of a bottle of Blue Label alcohol.

When Nasiruddin denied the proposal, Pori Moni scolded him. During an argument between Nasir and the accused, Pori Moni at one stage of altercation, threw a serving glass at Nasir and also threw a mobile phone to him. Nasir suffered injuries on his head and chest.
