Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: ICT Adviser Nahid Islam said on Sunday that internet shutdowns cannot be continued.
"Internet rights are human rights. It must not be violated, he made comments on Sunday, his first day at the Secretariat while speaking with journalists.
During this time, he said: "Actions will be taken against those involved in internet shutdowns. We will not condone corruption. We will work to build an ICT sector reliant on youth and listen to the youth."
On Thursday, Nahid Islam was sworn in as an advisor to the interim government, serving as the key coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement.
Later, he was appointed an adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology.
