Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: The Interim Government’s Adviser for Home Affairs, Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, has declared that the era of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) retreating at the border is over.
He said this to journalists at 11:45am on Tuesday, after visiting BGB members receiving treatment at the BGB Hospital in the BGB Headquarters at Pilkhana.
The adviser said: "Our people are attacked at the border, and BGB is forced into flag meetings. They enter our territory, attack, and then claim everything is fine after a flag meeting. I have told BGB not to turn their backs anymore. Enough is enough; no more.
"A force like BGB has been turned into a monster. Not just BGB, but the police, RAB, and Ansar have also been turned into monsters. However, these are not private forces; they are national forces. As long as I am here, I will ensure justice is upheld," he added.
Brigadier General (Retd) M Sakhawat Hossain also said: "These forces have been corrupted by the fascist propaganda of the fascist party, which made BGB turn its back at the border. However, BGB is supposed to protect the border. Inshallah, this will never be allowed to happen again."
Regarding a question about the fire at BTV, he said: "A fire was set at the TV station. Now there are rumors that it was started from the inside. It is still unknown who set the fire. Those involved in the TV broadcast should investigate who started the fire."
