AL leader Panna's body sent through Tamabil checkpost

Sylhet, Bangladesh Global: Meghalaya police have handed over the body of Awami League leader Ishaque Ali Khan Panna, whose half-decomposed body was found inside a betelnut plantation in Jaintia Hills district bordering Bangladesh, to his family.

The body was sent through Tamabil immigration post in Sylhet at about 11:30AM and Tamabil police received the body after legal procedure.

It was later handed over to Panna's nephew Nabil Khan. Other family members were also present.

Earlier foreign ministry requested the Indian government to send Ishaque Ali Khan Panna's body following an application of his family.

On August 24 morning, Panna and a few others crossed into Meghalaya through the Tamabil border of Sylhet. Later on August 26, his semi-decomposed body was found inside India.
