Gazipur, Bangladesh Global: Members of RAB-1 Gazipur Porabari Camp have arrested fugitive death row convict Lukimuddi alias Lokman, 54, from near Kashimpur Central Jail.

The arrest was confirmed by Major Junnurain Bin Alam, commander of RAB-1 Gazipur Porabari Camp, on Monday afternoon.

Lokman was arrested on Sunday from the Kodda area under Basan police station of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).

Lokman, the son of deceased Hazrat Ali from Bhara village in Tangail's Nagarpur upazila, had escaped from Kashimpur Central Jail on August 6. During the escape, several inmates took prison guards hostage and broke out of the lockup.

A case was filed by Lutfar Rahman, an officer of Kashimpur Jail, at Konabari police station.

Following an investigation and information from secret sources, RAB-1 tracked and arrested Lokman. He had then been handed over to Konabari police for further legal action.
