Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Security across the capital particularly around the International Crime Tribunal (ICT) areas has been significantly intensified ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled verdict against Sheikh Hasina and two others. All of them were accused of crimes against humanity linked to a murder case involving the July Mass Uprising.

“We have enhanced security arrangement surround the tribunal ahead of the scheduled verdict tomorrow,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station Khalid Munsur told journalists. He said they will give their best to check any untoward incident centering the verdict as per the directive of their senior officers.

Authorities have deployed multiple layers of security forces to prevent any unpleasant incident surrounding the verdict. According to officials, members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Armed Police Battalion (APBn) will maintain a strong presence around the Mazar Gate area of the Supreme Court starting Monday morning.

At the entrance to the ICT, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel and army units will be positioned, supported by armoured vehicles from both the BGB and DMP. Security preparations have been underway since Sunday, with check posts set up at major entry points into Dhaka. Members of the law enforcing agencies are conducting searches of suspicious individuals as part of heightened surveillance efforts.
