Sports Desk, Bangladesh Global: Bangladesh youth hockey team suffered a fight 3-2 goals defeat to France in their third and ultimate group match of FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup held at Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai,
India today (Tuesday). In the proceeding, France took the lead early in the first quarter as Gabriel scored the first goal in the 7th minute from a penalty stroke. Bangladesh, however, fought back in the second quarter when Md Abdullah scored a field goal in the 28th minute.
But, France again took the lead scoring two goals in a span of six minutes in the third quarter. Gabin scored the second goal in the 32nd minute and James further widened France's margin in the 38th minutes, both from field goal. The fourth quarter saw, Aminul Islam reduced the margin converting a penalty corner for Bangladesh in the 55th minute.
Earlier on Saturday's last, the boys and red and green suffered a fighting 5-3 goals defeat to strong Australia in their opening group match, despite a magnificent hat-trick by Aminul Islam. Bangladesh, however, played out to a 3-3 draw with South Korea in their second group match. France, earlier, thrashed South Korea 11-1 in their opening group match and beat Australia by 8-3 goals in their second match.
