Hadi’s janaza held at Manik Mia Avenue amid huge turnout

Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Hundreds of thousands of citizens performed the namaj-e-janaza of Inquilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi at the South Plaza of the Sangsad Bhaban today. Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, advisers, leaders and activists of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Inquilab Moncho, National Citizens Party (NCP) and the three chiefs of the military attended the namaz-e-janaza together with citizens in one of the largest congregations of Bangladesh.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain and an Inquilab Moncho leader spoke before the namaz-e-janaza. Hadi’s brother Mawlana Dr. Abu Bakar Siddique administered the janaza around 2:30 pm today afternoon.

People from different parts of Dhaka were seen taking the Metro Rail from early morning to reach the venue, resulting in heavy presence at key stations. Many gathered at Manik Mia Avenue in small processions to attend the janaza. Additional police personnel and members of security forces have been deployed at different places in the capital to maintain law and order during and after the namaz-e-janaza.

Sharif Osman Bin Hadi was an aspiring candidate for Dhaka-8 seat who was shot on December 12 after Jummah prayer and announced dead on December 18 in Singapore after extensive treatment. His body will be buried in the campus of Dhaka University next to National Poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam.
