News Desk, Bangladesh Global: Pakistan's Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury today paid a courtesy call on new Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Chowdhury met the premier at his Sangsad Bhaban office here this evening after Tarique took oath of office as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh at the South Plaza of the Sangsad Bhaban in the afternoon. Prime Minister's daughter Zaima Rahman, new Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and officials concerned were present during the meeting.
Earlier, the Pakistan minister met the Chief Adviser at the State Guest House Jamuna. He reached Dhaka at the invitation of the Government of Bangladesh to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, according to a message issued by Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh.
On his arrival, he was received at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by senior officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh and the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Dhaka.
