News Desk: India Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today called on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban following the swearing-in ceremony of the new government. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman also conveyed his greetings to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed optimism about further strengthening people-centric cooperation between Bangladesh and India.
Birla led a high-level Indian delegation that arrived in Dhaka today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly formed cabinet led by PM Tarique Rahman. Both leaders expressed their willingness to work together for the wellbeing of the people of Bangladesh and India, pursuing a people-centric agenda of cooperation, said the Bangladesh envoy.
According to a press release issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs earlier, his participation underscored the deep and enduring friendship between the peoples of the two countries and reaffirms India’s commitment to shared democratic values.
