News Desk, Bangladesh Global: Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met newly elected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at his Sangsad Bhaban office here after he took oath of office as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh this afternoon.
Prime Minister's daughter Zaima Rahman, Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and officials concerned were present during the meeting. Earlier, Dr Mohamed Muizzu arrived in Dhaka today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Bangladesh’s new cabinet led by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the two countries. He was received at the Hazrat Shahjalal Airport by senior officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh and the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Dhaka.
The interim government had invited heads of government from more than a dozen countries, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, along with foreign ministers from several other nations. The foreign ministers of Nepal, Sri Lanka and other countries are also expected to attend the ceremony. Leaders from China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Brunei were also amongst those invited.
