Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers along with hundreds of devotees in the day’s first Eid congregation, held at 7:30am at the National Eidgah this morning. The chief justice, cabinet members, MPs, political leaders, diplomats and other officials also joined the Eid jamaat.
After the prayers, they joined a munajat with the devotees, seeking blessings from the Almighty for the Muslim Ummah as well as the nation. A special munajat, seeking divine blessings for peace, progress, and prosperity of Bangladesh, as well as the welfare of its people and the Muslim Ummah, was offered after the prayers. The president exchanged Eid greetings with the prime minister, his cabinet colleagues, and a cross-section of people after the prayers at the Eidgah.
The Eid congregation at the National Eidgah ground was held under the supervision of the DSCC. Special arrangements were also made for women devotees at the National Eidgah. Meanwhile, intensified security measures were taken in and around the Eidgah premises. Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek conducted the Eid prayers.
