Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder today said that silos are being digitizing across the country to measure the food grains quickly.
“Though digitization of silos, it will be possible to easily know how much product is stocked in a food warehouse and how much has been taken out,” he said.
The minister said these while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Government Premix Kernel Factory in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj district as the chief guest, a press release said.
He said that initiatives have been taken to build 200 more silos across the country for increasing storage capacity.
He advised all concerned not to polish and trim rice more than two to three times to keep the nutrition of rice intact.
Sadhan said discussion will be held with mill owners after Eid aiming to ensure reaching rice with natural color and aroma to the customers.
With Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mahmudul Haque in the chair, the programme was attended, among others, by Food Secretary Ismail Hossain and Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Food Abdullah Al Mamun.
