Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader referred to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the “poet of politics” and lauded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the “magician of politics”.

He made these remarks during the 75th founding anniversary celebration of the Awami League at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on Sunday afternoon.

Quader highlighted that independence is Bangladesh's greatest achievement.

"Two legacies were born in this country. Bangabandhu for the legacy of freedom. He is gone today, but his legacy will never die. Another legacy is our economic liberation, held by our president Sheikh Hasina. As long as Bangladesh exists, Bangabandhu will not die, and Sheikh Hasina will remain immortal," he said.

The program began at 4:40pm with the recitation of various scriptures, including the Holy Quran.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the event by hoisting the national and party flags, which was followed by the national anthem, and the releasing of balloons and pigeons.

Quader thanked and congratulated everyone who attended the 75th founding anniversary of the Awami League.

"Sheikh Hasina is the sole source of trust for the people of Bangladesh," he said.

Addressing domestic and foreign conspiracies, Quader noted that many fail to recognize Sheikh Hasina's development efforts.

He condemned those who he described as enemies of freedom and the liberation war, accusing them of introducing autocracy, exiling the spirit of the liberation war, and banning "Joy Bangla".

"We must unite against the evil forces who masterminded August 15 and August 21," he added.

The event concluded with a cultural program.
