Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: Worker of a garment factory blocked Dhaka-Mymensingh highway demanding their three-month due salaries.
Movement of vehicles on both sides of the highway has remained suspended since 9AM on Monday.
The employees of Seasons Dresses Ltd took on street in Gazipur's Tongi at about 8:30AM for their dues, causing immense sufferings to the commuters.
Some were found to go their destination on foots getting down from buses.
The workers alleged that they did not get three-month salaries, overtime money for February and March of the running year and also unpaid their three-year leave money.
"We have been waiting for three months with the assurance that we will be paid. A total of four months' salary including the current month has been left, "said Mamun Hossain, an employee of Seasons Dresses Ltd.
Gazipur indistrial police's Tongi zone assistant police super Mosharraf Hossain said, " We are discussing the matter to the owners and trying to remove the workers from the road."
