Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: SAFF Women’s Championship-winning Bangladesh team have requested chief adviser Dr Yunus to arrange a friendly with Barcelona FC. The champions informed the interim government head about their wish when he accorded them a reception on Saturday (November 2) at his official residence Jamuna.
Bangladeshi forward Krishna Rani Sarkar said they want to play outside Asia. She requested him on her team’s behalf to arrange a match against UEFA Champions Barcelona.
Dr Yunus went to Barcelona in 2016 after being invited to pitch a social business idea. He also wore a special jersey with his name on it when he went to Nou Camp. Krishna Rani made such a request because of Yunus' good relationship with Barcelona.
During the meeting, the chief adviser asked each player to write down their dreams, struggles, aspirations and demands and submit them to his office. He promised that efforts will be made to fulfill their needs on a priority basis.
“Write what you want and send it without hesitation. We will do our best to meet your needs and will do so as soon as possible,” he said.
Bangladesh won the championship for a second consecutive time on October 30 defeating Nepal. They were given hero’s welcome when they returned home.
