Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: A writ petition was filed on Wednesday with the concerned branch of the High Court seeking necessary directives to cancel all power agreements with Adani Group of India.
Barrister M Kaiyum lodged the writ with the court today. Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury will hear the petition.
On November 6, a Supreme Court lawyer served a legal notice asking the government to review its electricity contract with Adani Group.
The notice asked the Chairman of the Bangladesh Power Development Board and the Secretary of the Energy Ministry to reply to the notice within three days. Otherwise, the notice sender will file a writ petition with the High Court seeking necessary directives in this regard.
