Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today said the strong and courageous role of the late Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, who dedicated his life for the country and its people, will inspire and encourage us forever to build a strong and self-reliant country and society.
In a message marking the 144th birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, Tarique Rahman said, “If we can follow the path shown by him (Maulana Bhashani), no obstacle will be able to prevent us from reaching the desired goal of multi-party democracy”.
The BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman paid deep respect to the memory of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, known as the leader of oppressed, and prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul.
Tarique Rahman said the role of Bhashani against the misrule of all dictators in pre and post-independent Bangladesh and his contribution to protecting the country's democracy, independence and sovereignty is undoubtedly remarkable.
He said the legendary leader Maulana Bhashani throughout his political life fought tirelessly against the exploiters standing by the side of exploited.
He (Maulana Bhashani) has always been in the role of uncompromising leadership in the struggle to establish the rights of the oppressed and suppressed people, Tarique Rahman added.
