Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: A massive fire has broken out at a button factory in Gazipur’s Sreepur municipality area.
The fire broke out at around 2pm on Sunday (December 22) at the factory named Phenasemicon in the Bhanganhati area, said Mahmudul Hasan, In-Charge of Sreepur Fire Servicec
Seven firefighting units of Sreepur, Gazipur Modern Fire Station, and Rajendrapur are working to control the blaze.
Three units of Sreepur Fire Service rushed to the spot after receiving information. Later, one unit of Rajendrapur Fire Service and three units of Gazipur Modern Fire Station joined them.
Locals said there are chemicals stored in the factory. The chemical containers have been exploding with loud bangs, one after another.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, the fire service official said.
