News Desk, Bangladesh Global: BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has departed for Dhaka from London's Heathrow Airport early today. He left at around 12:36am Bangladesh time on a regular Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, accompanied by his wife, Zubaida Rahman, and daughter, Zaima Rahman.
Earlier, at about 10:15pm, Tarique arrived at the airport with his family and completed the required formalities. The BNP media cell later shared a photograph showing Zaima snapping a shot inside the aircraft, with her father and mother smiling beside her. "On the way back to my motherland, Bangladesh!" Zaima wrote on her Facebook page.
Upon arriving in Dhaka, Tarique is to be received by BNP Standing Committee members. From there, he will proceed to the reception venue via the July Expressway, also known as the 300-Feet road, where he will thank party leaders and activists and address the nation, and later visit his mother, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, at Evercare Hospital at Bashundhara.
