Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Masato Kanda and Managing Director of Dhaka WASA, Md. Aminul Islam, jointly inaugurated the Integrated Water Operation Center (IWOC) and Dhaka WASA Day Care Center today with ADB finance, showcasing the Asian Development Bank's continued support for Dhaka WASA's commitment to modernization, inclusion and service.

The Integrated Water Operation Center (IWOC), a GIS-based centralized asset management and monitoring system, has been established under Dhaka Water Supply Network Improvement Project (DWSNIP). It will enable fully automated real-time monitoring of water production and quality from a single control room. The system is expected to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen monitoring capability and improve service delivery for Dhaka WASA customers.

A new Child Day Care Center has also been established under the Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project (DESWS) through ADB grant support. The facility has launched in line with the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Strategy Action Plan of Dhaka WASA to promote a more inclusive and supportive working environment.

The well-equipped Child Day Care Center features modern amenities including breastfeeding facilities, rest and activity areas, dining space, child-friendly washrooms, CCTV monitoring, emergency care support to ensure the safety, comfort, and overall development for children of Dhaka WASA employees, aged 6 months to 6 years.
