News Desk, Bangladesh Global: After the overnight fire, the fire service again started their operation on Sunday morning to extinguish the fire in Amurbunia's Chhila area under Chadpai range of the eastern Sundarbans in Bagerhat.
Beside the the three fire fighting units, members of navy and coast guard and a helicopter of Bangladesh Biman are also joined with them.
A 10-member fire fighting team of the Bangladesh Navy joined with the Fire Service at 9am. Earlier, the fire originated in Chhila area near Amurbunia patrol post of the mangrove forest around 3:30pm on Saturday.
Forest Department, Fire Service and police had to leave the operation unfinished as it was evening. The overnight fire spread two kilometres area.
Mamun Mahmud, deputy director of Khulna division's Fire Service and Civil Defence, said three units are working now to douse the fire and two more are ready if needed.
